About the Artist

    Although Kay Primer is a native from Kansas, she has always felt she belonged in the Southwest. After graduating from college she moved to New Mexico where she lived for several years. Currently she lives and works in San Marcos, TX. Kay's art experience started in her childhood and continues into adulthood. Her work has developed and matured throughout her live and she has used media such as oils, stained glass and ceramics. About 10 years ago she had the opportunity to work as an apprentice to a professional sculptor and realized that bronze was her medium. At that time she learned the entire lost wax process. "I like the fact that it is three dimensional and can be viewed from all sides. It can also be produced as a single subject. I think the piece should evoke an emotional response both from the artist and the patron.
